The category VADE lands in is crowded with procurement and project-management suites. They are built for the back half of a job: purchase orders, invoices, client billing, project schedules, delivery tracking, room-by-room budgets. They do that work properly and they charge for it, typically four to six times what VADE costs a month. If you run a large studio with a dedicated procurement person, you probably need one.
VADE is the layer before that. Sourcing happens early, it is messy, and almost all of it happens in a browser with thirty tabs open. The decisions that matter, what goes in the room, from which supplier, in which colour, get made weeks before anything is raised as an order. That part of the job has historically been left to bookmarks, screenshots, a Pinterest board and a folder on the desktop, and it is the only part VADE is trying to fix.
So, plainly, what VADE does not do. No purchase orders. No invoicing, payments or client billing. No time tracking or fee proposals. No project schedules, Gantt charts or task assignment. No delivery tracking, no room budgets, no accounting integration. None of it is on a roadmap, because a tool that tries to be a library and a finance system is good at neither.
Plenty of studios run VADE alongside a heavier system quite happily: sourcing and presentation here, ordering and money over there. Free is genuinely free: unlimited saves, unlimited vendors and collections, colour search, AI categorisation, and three moodboards a month. Solo is £12 a month and raises that to 50 moodboards a month, adds PDF export as an A3 client deliverable, and lets client shares carry your studio branding. Studio is £29 a month for unlimited moodboards under fair use and up to 5 team seats on a shared library, with everything in Solo included.
